Dear Colleague:
The Havana Instituto de Filosofia is pleased to invite you to participate in the
4th. Biennial International Seminar on the Philosophical, Epistemological and Methodological Implications of Complexity Theory
COMPLEXITY-2008
January 15-18th, 2008
This International Congress is organized by the Complexity Cathedra of the Havana Instituto de Filosofia and is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA, according to the Spanish acronym); the Academy of Sciences of Cuba; the Complexity Cathedrae at Camaguey and Holguin Universities; the Complexity Cathedra at `N. Guillen´ Cultural Center in Camagüey; the Cathedra for Nonlinear Dynamical Systems `H. Poincare´ at Havana University and the Center for Medicine and Complexity in Camagüey.
The Congress will be an appropriate place to discuss the most transcendental challenges in this important new field of Knowledge. After very successful Biennial Seminars on January 2002, 2004,and 2006, that hosted participants from more than 20 countries of 5 continents, including such relevant figures as Fritjof Capra, Isabelle Stengers, Gregoire Nicolis, John Casti, Edgar Morin among others, we shall meet again to exchange ideas on a wide variety of aspects of this trans-disciplinary field. This scientific meeting has among other objectives that of encouraging thinking on the scope and range of this promising Complexity approach. And in its Parallel Symposia and Workshops on Complex Educational, Organizational, Environmental, Art and Aesthetics, Biological, Biomedical and Linguistic Systems we will analyze their most significant characteristics.
It will be a great pleasure to have you with us during our Congress, and to welcome you cordially and warmly in our hospitable country.
